Jobs

I am pretty new to working. I recently got a job as a babysitter for two girls. I really like it because I get to be with kids all day, and I love kids. Today I got a job as a seasonal sales associate for a well known retail chain. I'm not going to lie and say that I'm not nervous because I definitely am. I have never worked in retail, but I wanted to try something new.
For those of you getting jobs this summer, I have some advice. First look for a job that you would enjoy. If you're a teenager you're mainly looking at retail or food. But apply for as many jobs as you can so you can have a good chance of being hired. The store I was hired at was actually an extra place I applied for. But they were the ones who called me and hired me. It was a great feeling because I was trying to get a job for most of this whole year.
If/when you get a job, make sure you do the very best you can. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and be smart with your money. Don't just constantly spend your money. Save some, pay your bills, and then put aside some money for spending. If you don't create a budget you will fall in a deep hole.
My final bit of advice for this post is about interviews. When you get called in for an interview you want to dress nicely. Try to dress as if you are one position above the position you are applying for. As for the interview, you want to find someone you know who has experience as an interviewer or has been to a lot of interviews. Then when you find that person, do some roleplaying. Pretend that you are actually having the interview and go over some questions the interviewer may ask. I did this with my dad and it was actually very helpful.
I hoped this post helped you and your job search. I may post more blogs about working because I'll be working a lot this summer. If you have any questions drop them below in the comment section.
